By now everyone knows that playing an acoustic guitar will either make you a ton of money or get you ridiculed by the musical public because you are cashing in on a popular musical trend thanks to Mr. Chris Carraba. Then you have the select group of artists who are exceptions to the rule like Rocky Votolato, Ida and Kevin Devine who are musically talent and are honest in their craft and simply do it for the sake of writing a song rather than defining a generation.
Superstitions Of The Sky was created by Josh J. from the Philly area as an outlet other than the many bands he has participated in over time from Neil Perry and Joshua Fit For Battle to the more recent bands of The Now and Hot Cross. Shortly after the first release from Superstitions Josh's long time friend Vadim T. of This Day Forward fame was enlisted in the project to create a more textured song structure. Now with this duo and their soothing vocal approach complimenting each other to a T, they are poised to turn a few heads in the process.
Songs ranging from extremely mellow to the electric, this disc will have you listening to the whole thing rather than skipping around from track to track which I personally do for these type of releases. It will sooth your nerves, make you think about life and let you appreciate good, simple songwriting. Plain and simple, this is a release that will get people to pay attention to two hardcore kids picking up acoustic guitars.
