A few years ago Sam Cowan started Heartshed, and with the help of Dave, Luke, Zack and Jordan wrote and recorded the bulk of what is now 'The Emphatic Fall.' Sam quit in October of 2006 and Dave quit shortly thereafter. Since Sam and Dave left, the band has evolved into something significantly separate from what it started out as. Dryw Owens replaced Sam and we continued as a four piece. We also continued playing old material after the line up change but found ourselves taking our writing in a new direction. In addition to this change the band also gained guitarist Sean O'Sullivan, formerly of Dance Gavin Dance.
Due to the fact that our band now contains only half the original line up, (as well as the change musically) we feel the need to put the name Heartshed to rest and move on with a new project. We'll keep you up to date on the new name as well as the release date for our EP, which is being mixed and mastered as I type this.
To clarify: No one that is currently in the band is leaving. We are not "breaking up", simply giving recognition to what Heartshed was and moving forward.
